All of our courses are taught in small friendly groups and are designed to provide progressive learning in easy steps. Each course is led by a tutor who demonstrates each step and is able to give individual advice along the way.
ARTS
Drawing Techniques - Improvers
This 9 week course aims to build on existing drawing skills to help you develop more confidence and ability in using a range of coloured grounds and drawing materials, and increase your awareness of different styles of drawing, looking at the work of a range of artists. You will also use sketchbooks to experiment with ideas.

Drawing Techniques - Beginners
This friendly and encouraging 9 week course aims to show you how and where to start drawing and help you develop more confidence and ability, using a range of coloured grounds and drawing materials.

Watercolour for Beginners
An opportunity for complete beginners to discover just how creative you can be in a friendly and supportive environment!
9 weeks £63 plus £2 per week for materials used.

CRAFTS
Creative Writing Level 2
For those who have already completed the Beginners course or who have some existing experience of writing, this course is designed to help you initiate and expand ideas for your own projects, to explore putting together longer pieces of writing and generally assist you to develope the writing craft.

This course runs on Mondays from 7.30pm – 9.30pm beginning on 23/01/12 and running until 26/03/12 excluding 13/02/12.
Dress Making for all Levels
This course adapts to the needs of those attending, whether you have no or limited experience, or if you feel you need a guiding hand with a complicated pattern or alteration. It could cover how to measure correctly and calculate fabric quantities, choosing, reading, marking and pining patterns, cutting materiel and making up a finished garment. It could also show you how to make alterations and repairs with a professional finish. You will need to bring your own electric sewing machine.
9 weeks £63 plus the cost of your pattern and material which you will need to have purchased for Week 3 of the course.
This course runs on Thursdays from 7pm - 9pm beginning 26/1/12 and running until 29/3/12 excluding 16/2/12.
Jewellery Making - Intermediate
For those who have completed a Beginners course or who have existing skills and knowledge of Jewellery Making - this course will show you new techniques with wire and beading and inspire you with new ideas!
10 weeks £70 plus an additional charge of £2 per week for beads.
This course runs on Wednesdays from 7pm - 9pm beginning on 18/1/12 and running until 28/3/12 excluding 15/2/12.
Patchwork & Quilting - Beginners
This 9 week course will show you how to choose and combine colours and pattern and the different methods of piecing them together to create a unique textile piece of work.

Mosaics for all Levels
Learn to create beautiful pictures and patterns using fragments of tiles, beads, glass etc. Suitable for indoor or outdoor projects.

Knitting for Beginners
If you have ever wanted to learn to make beautiful woolen items this is the course for you! Come along and join this very friendly and supportive course and make a start with a small babys garment or similar item.

LANGUAGES
Spanish Beginners
For newcomers to the language or those wishing to refresh their skills from a basic level this course provides an introduction to Spanish in a relaxed, friendly and informal atmosphere. Learn some basic vocabulary, how to introduce yourself and give personal information, how to buy basic items and order food in cafes and restaurants and how to book accommodation and ask directions.
9 weeks £63.00 plus an optional £3 for a folder of notes (payable to tutor).

For those who have completed a Beginners course or wish to refresh existing skills, this course will lead you on to explore a wider range of vocabulary and pronounciation.

French Beginners
For newcomers to French or those wishing to refresh their skills from the beginning, this is an introduction to the language in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You will learn basic vocabulary to give you the confidence to "have a go" next time you are in a French speaking country including:

French Conversation
For those who are already able to converse with some confidence in French but wish to improve, this course gives you 90 minutes each week to speak nothing but French! Working with a French born, very approachable and friendly tutor you will converse about subjects which interest you, polishing your accent and improving your fluency in this beautiful language.

Other Interests
Astronomy
This course is designed for complete beginners and will give a wide-ranging overview of Astronomy including the opportunity to look at the skies in detail using a telescope. Subjects covered will include:
* how to choose equipment and how to observe
* the basic concepts of Astronomy
* the planets and other members of our Solar System
* the nature of stars and galaxies, and how they evolve
* the Big Bang and evolution of the Universe

ICT Courses
Basic Digital Imaging Level 1
This 6 week course is for people with a digital camera who would like to know how to make the best use of their photos using their computer. You will learn how to save, edit, crop and adjust photos etc. You will need to have a basic working knowledge of computers and to either bring a USB stick with you or to purchase one from us (approx costs £5).
